Veterans Memorial Coliseum has had a wide array of events, with either the curtain open or closed, and the Plaza has been used many times as well. Some events, such as a robotics show, used both the Arena and Exhibit Hall. Other events, like to use the Arena and Concourse, such as the CAP auction. Memorial Coliseum's close to downtown location and excellent transit access makes it a desirable location for events.
